The BIG Dream Gathering headed to the West Coast this week. We met with a very special dreamer named Rex Hohlbein. Rex had been working as an award-winning architect for several years, when he began to interact with some people living in homelessness.
It started with talking to people that were living outside of his office and learning about their needs. He then connected with the local community to find the items that could help. He found that by telling a story and sharing a photo of someone that was in need yielded people eager to pitch in.
Now, Rex is the Creative Director behind Facing Homelessness, a nonprofit organization that has a goal of bettering communities by ending homelessness. They are all about raising awareness for those living without shelter and other basic needs through the sharing of photos and personal stories.
The Facing Homelessness community encourages us to see people and offer something as simple as a hello to those who we often times pass by without notice. It was an inspiring reminder to see others just as they are – people.
Seattle University was our host for our BDG. It was such an engaging group of students and members of the community! It was so inspiring seeing everyone dream together and encourage each other.
We can’t forget to give a shout out to our incredible partner American Family Insurance for fueling the BIG Dream Gathering and for being such a fantastic partner! We loved seeing the agents encouraging students and dreaming BIG alongside the attendees.
Until next time… keep dreaming BIG! #1milliondreams
