I want to make public speaking and consulting my primary profession. I want to work directly with step families, single parent families, etc... To be specific I don't want to cross the line into counseling, this isn't counseling - I want to help families identify their roles and create/build a strong foundation for their new family style that will actually (hopefully) prevent them from having to attend counseling at a later date.

Three things I have in place -
1. I have a strong desire, drive and passion to help families succeed. Especially step-families, becuase I know first hand the challenges they face. 2. I have the specifics in place - business name - Family Matters of Iowa - I have a great motto - "Families don't fail becuase they plan to, they fail becuase they don't plan not to."
3. I have training and experience in public speaking a well as consulting, along with
25 years of experience wearing various family style hats - 1st wife,widow,2nd wife, parent, step parent, foster/adoptive parent, grandparent.

What I'm missing is the courage to step out and make this a full time committment. Instead its something I dabble in while I work a full time, very demanding job. I pray for guidance, but I struggle with whether this is a passion on my heart from God or a desire that is out of reach and a bit foolish.

This is a WONDERFUL dream! Have you considered contacting local churches to get started? A lot of them have workshops, etc. for families that are struggling. Perhaps you could speak to these groups and meet families you could work with. I think this is a beautiful passion, MUCH needed in today's society! Please pursue it. When you have doubts, just close your eyes and imagine what children endure in a divorce. If you can keep just ONE child from enduring that kind of pain - you KNOW God has inspired your work!

Hello!

Mine is merely a seed of a dream at this point in time, but I'm a single person in my 50's and I want to travel the world.

When you're single and your friends are mostly married with children/grandchildren, it's hard to find traveling companions.

I'd love to start a travel group, either at Lutheran Church of Hope or in the Des Moines/Central Iowa area, where singles would feel welcome and comfortable.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a "singles" travel group, but just one where singles could mix in with other people from the area who share the same interests.

Thank you.

My Dream is this: private at this time..

Hobbies to fun and venture:

My dreams is to take my hobbies into the next
step and become a collector and restore for profit.
Those items then would be resold, or restored for people whom want to be collectors and keep those items in good condition..

I would like to be able to make hunting a career. I love to hunt and would do it every day if I could. I am currently a banker in NorthWest Iowa. I work mainly with farmers. I like my job, but would love to be a professional hunter for example on a team like team realtree. I am from Southeast South Dakota and would like to make that my main residence, but would be very willing to travel anywhere and everywhere to hunt.

Things I have in place: I have been hunting since I could walk. I have the ability & knowledge to do this. I am great with a rifle, bow, or shotgun. I am an expert pheasant hunter & also great at hunting the deer & geese in my hometown area. I feel I have the personality that a hunting team would look for. I am funny and easy to get along with. I would be an asset to any hunting team. I also have all the equipment & even some South Dakota hunting ground and landlord contacts for pheasants, deer, & geese. I have also guided pheasant hunts and raised pheasants in the past, but now do not find the time to do these things.

Things I would need: basically a contact. I would either need someone with an in to a hunting operation already or someone with the same dream that would like to possibly take a risk to start our own. Hunting is very expensive, so it would be great to get on a team that is already sponsored, but if the right opportunity came to me I would be willing to invest some personal time and money to get it going.

My dream is for my husband to finally have investors who will give him the means to build their projects, commercial, residential, multi-family, etc. without all the red tape, butt-kissing, begging and bank groveling. My maestro construction and project manager husband has been in business for over 25 years...he's the best out there--He's a professional "get others to perform on his terms and time frame" kind of guy. His subs respect him because though he's relentless, he's loyal, treats them well and in turn they are always there for him.
Tony, my husband wants a believer--someone that doesn't get in the way--but says--"get the job done" and know that he's going to do it right, on time, with great accuracy and the best end product.
He's 47 years old, has given all he's got to his career, his family, his education, and he's done so with the utmost faith, character and integrity.
It's my dream because he's my best friend and I know his abilities. He's getting ready to launch the Hugel-land Group, a vision and dream that encompasses all the professions required to put the investors best interests first by working with a collaborative group of professionals out of a "Anchor" location where there can be think-tank meetings, lead sharing and generation--sort of like a board of Directors.
You know those people out there that you think just have it all together? That's Tony. Even under the greatest times of stress, he's steady, predictable. I've prayed for him, I've wished for him and what I've determined is that God doesn't give you the capacity to be amazing without the tools you need to accomplish greatness. About two months ago I was at the Franklin Covey store getting refills for my real estate scheduler and a postcard caught my attention. It simply read, "The day you decide to do it is your lucky day."
With that, I called Tony and told him--
we're not waiting anymore. We're going to make this work no matter what. We've failed many times, but we've learned and in so in that regard we are stronger. We're going to do this--I would love for him to have an investor who wants to put up money for a project but that is the only thing they want to do and leave the rest to someone they could trust with their life, because that is Tony. Ask anybody; they'll tell you the same thing.
Please--if you are investor, someone who wants to do something big or small--Huckleberry--right here. We are mobile--I told Tony we should call the company Mobilocity--we've been everywhere!
Thanks for reading.

I have several passions that I really want to make come to life. The first is a passion for mentoring and coaching. I have had the opportunity to build a success coach program where I am currently employed, however, the opportunity to lead it full time is not there.
My second passion is cooking. My dream is to have my own cooking show and write a cook book. My passion at this point is what I have in place today.
